I grew up on a small farm in North Alabama, in a strict Christian environment. Hard work and service to others were big principles in our household.Because of that foundation, I knew that a career where I could serve others was the calling that was laid upon my heart. I attended Anderson University (Anderson, IN) where I majored in Exercise Science and Biochemistry.
My initial intentions were to graduate and attend Doctorate of Osteopathy school at Auburn University in Auburn, AL. I took the MCAT in order to get accepted to the program, and made a decent score, so I thought I was all set! Until a friend of my family, who was a Chiropractor, asked me to come shadow him at his Chiropractic clinic for a full workday.
I took him up on the offer and was fascinated by the Chiropractic approach to healthcare. I could help people by healing their musculoskeletal conditions, as well as aid in doing my part to serve the community that I am apart of!
After weeks of critically thinking this decision over, I decided to go to Chiropractic school with D.O school as a backup, and I never left! I graduated from Parker University in Dallas, TX where I got my Doctorate of Chiropractic degree, discovered the SDCC team, and the wonderful city of Denton that I now call home!
